Paul Shimmin Limited (PSL) is a leading Isle of Man-based business consultancy which has provided a full range of accountancy services to small to medium sized local Manx companies and private clients for more than 30 years.
The business was established in 1991 by Paul Shimmin after he had gained 10 years’ experience in a large international accountancy practice on the Island. His intention was to create a friendly, personal, locally focused business consultancy providing a full range of accountancy services and advice.
In addition to business consultancy and advisory services, PSL works alongside Shimmin Wilson to provide traditional accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax advisory and compliance, VAT and personal tax services to individuals and companies.
In 1995 the Chartered Accountancy practice of Shimmin Wilson & Co was formed alongside PSL.
Shimmin Wilson Chartered Accountants and Insolvency Practitioners undertake regulated services such as audit, as well as liquidations and related insolvency services including Mental Health Receiverships and other personal appointments.

Partner & Director
Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and has over 40 years of local experience in accountancy and business consultancy. For more than 30 years he has specialised in all areas of insolvency and restructuring.
Paul is one of a few persons who is approved by the High Court of Justice in the Isle of Man to be appointed as Provisional Liquidator and deemed Official Receiver.
He is also appointed to be an Official Trustee in Bankruptcy under the Bankruptcy Code 1892. He accepts appointments as Isle of Man Court appointed Mental Health Receiver and acts in several other capacities to assist the Court and local regulatory authorities.

Senior Insolvency Manager
Christopher is the Senior Insolvency Manager at Shimmin Wilson. Beginning his career in a corporate service provider, he now has over 10 years’ experience with a wide range of local insolvency and company administration appointments.
He is a fellow of the International Compliance Association and a fully qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner.
Christopher has a wealth of experience in compliance and regulatory matters gained over the course of a career spanning more than a decade.
Lorraine qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians in 1991 and joined us in 1992.
In 1999, Lorraine became freelance and relocated to the North of the Island concentrating on providing book-keeping and accounting services to clients in the north. She continued to work with us in providing her services to a number of our continuing clients.
In 2021 we were pleased to be able to welcome her and her 30 plus years of local experience back to the firm where she now heads up and manages our accountancy services.
